Which pacifier nipple shape is best? Nipple information
Being a parent is an amazing experience. But for new parents who aren't sure which items are best for their infant, this trip can also be stressful. We are available to assist you at every stage.
Babies have a natural sucking instinct from birth. Using the mother's breast, a pacifier, their thumb, or another object, the infant will attempt to satiate this urge. In addition to being an essential reflex for obtaining food, sucking calms an infant by serving as a reminder of something secure and comfortable in an otherwise unfamiliar environment.
Since every baby is unique, there is no right or incorrect size or form for the nipple. Babies' tastes, methods of sucking, and oral structure vary from one another. As a result, we provide a variety of pacifiers to satisfy these various demands.
To discover the ideal fit for your child, you might need to try on various sizes and shapes. While some newborns have no preferences and will accept any nipple form, size, or material you provide, others have specific preferences.
Round nipple
Because of its round form, which allows the sides of the tongue to elevate and cup around the nipple, the round nipple mimics the size and shape of the mother's soft nipple and encourages a similar tongue positioning and sucking technique as when breastfeeding.
Symmetrical nipple
Babies that prefer the flat symmetrical nipple form can use our pacifiers with a symmetrical flat-drop nipple. The baby does not need to suck as hard as they would with a round nipple in order for the pacifier to flatten inside the mouth since the drop-shaped nipple encourages a tongue positioning and sucking technique where the tongue is flat and presses the pacifier flat against the palate.
Anatomical nipple
The anatomical nipple, our final nipple type, has an angled tip for convenient tongue placement and a curved top for a natural fit to the baby's palate. As with nursing, the curved top encourages a tongue placement and sucking technique in which the tongue's sides cup around the nipple. The baby doesn't have to suck as forcefully as they would with a spherical nipple because of the angled tip, which allows the pacifier to flatten inside the mouth.
All Shapes of Pacifiers have this technique:
When the baby presses down on the nipple, a valve on the nipple releases air. By forcing air out of the nipple through the valve, this ventilation mechanism flattens the nipple, allowing it to naturally resemble the baby's oral cavity. After the nipple has been cleaned and sterilized, water may still be present because of the valve. To get rid of the extra water, merely squeeze the nipple flat if that's the case.
